The national Teacher cup competition was held in 2008
The national Teacher Cup competitions were held in Karaj on November 21, 2008, over two days, in the Line Follower Robot League. The nature of this competition was a classic yet always exciting format of robotics contests: robots had to navigate a specified path in the shortest possible time. Nothing thrilled the audience more than watching a robot race along the black line, handling corners with millimeter precision. The competitions were held in two stages: preliminary and finals. In the preliminary round, all teams competed, and only the top 10 teams that achieved the best times advanced to the final round. The psychological pressure at this stage was immense; every second, even every hundredth of a second, could mean the difference between advancing and being eliminated. Teams tested their robots repeatedly, refined their algorithms, and recalibrated their sensors with painstaking precision. The finals were held among those 10 qualified teams. The competition reached its peak; a robot that had performed excellently in the preliminary round might slip under the pressure or due to a slight change in ambient light. At the end of this intense and dramatic competition, the judges awarded first, second, and third place to the top three teams, along with prizes. I participated in these competitions with high motivation, after weeks of practice and preparation. My line follower robot was carefully designed, and its control algorithms had been optimized many times. However, competition at the national level is ruthless and full of surprises. Strong and experienced rivals had arrived, each with unique innovations in their mechanical and software design. Unfortunately, despite all my efforts, I could not place among the top 10 teams and failed to advance to the finals in the preliminary round. My hands were empty, but my bag was full of experience. Those days became a school for me; I learned that robotics is not just about coding and good hardware, but also about steel nerves, stress management, and the ability to perform in critical moments. It was an experience that later played a key role in my greater successes.
